Collected by Lynn Lowrey, an east Texas pioneer plantsman. He chose this clone for its profuse and frequent flower displays. It grows slowly to 5' tall and wide with dense mounded form. Its rich green foliage is a wonderful background for the lavender flowers. Not as dependent as others on humidity for flowering. Called Lynn's Everblooming in Texas

Maintenance Tips

Leucophyllum langmaniae 'Lynn's Legacy' is a hybrid of the Mexican native and has been selected for its profuse flowering and long blooming cycle. The flowers are a vibrant purple and completely cover the 5’ by 5’ shrub in the spring. It has a very regular growth habit, creating a nicely formed upright shrub. This plant is extremely drought and heat-tolerant and rarely requires any irrigation or fertilizer once it is established. The best way to keep this extremely low maintenance is to plant it in full sun with well-drained soil and allow it the space it needs to reach its mature size. It will not require deadheading or even pruning if it is given the necessary space. If it becomes too woody, it can be thinned out by removing some of the longest branches and allowing sunlight into the interior of the plant.
