Watering Information
What Time of Day Should I Water?
The Municipal Water District of Orange County (MWDOC) recommends watering between 6 p.m. and 8 a.m. Watering within this window of time takes advantage of relatively low winds and less loss of water to evaporation.
How Long Should I Water?
Exact watering times vary depending on the type of watering device, soil, slope and plant material. Keep in mind that traditional spray irrigation will generally result in runoff after five minutes of irrigating.
How Often Should I Water?
Review any local regulations governing irrigation practices. Your city may have adopted restrictions on the duration and frequency of irrigation events.
